The second in this series of beauty round-ups. If you follow me on instagram you may already have watched the IGTV, but this month we have some real beauties. It seems that these are all a bit pricey, so I apologise, but I suspect by next month, when we start going out and about a bit, I will need to start looking at more high street brands. I'd love your feedback and if there's anything you particularly want me to try do let me know.

1. Amanda Harrington Face Tan Kit £69

I've raved about this self tan since I first tried it. The first thing I love about it is that it doesn't smell! Second, it is so easy to use and I would say, almost fool proof. It's really hard to go wrong.

This kit contains the 'Ultimate Gradual Tan' which you apply as a 'primer'. Followed by the Face mist and brush and a pair of black gloves. You simply spray the mist directly onto the brush and then apply to face in circular motions. For the neck - I would suggest using the residue on the brush rather than spraying again...so you get a slightly lighter look and it doesn't look dirty.

I use on my décolletage too although they do also do a body set which is next on my list to try! The kit is actually worth £89 so it's a good deal and there are often offers on the site, if you sign up to an email, so do check out regularly.

2. Murad Retinol Youth Eye Serum £72

What first attracted me to this product was the fact that you can also use on lids - and my lids are my main concern as they are rapidly falling over my eyes!

It is preventative as well as corrective and they say it provides an instant dose of retinol plus a dose over time so that you get long term results. . It also promises 24hr hydration which is always needed in a more mature skin.

3. Trinny BFF SPF30 £35

Have loved this for quite a while now, and am on my second tube of it. It's literally the perfect 'everyday' make up for those that don't necessarily want to do the full 'foundation' thing.

The fact that it also has SPF30 is a must for me and it also now comes in 5 shades. Don't be alarmed as it goes on white and then takes on colour as you rub it into your skin. It gives a really lovely glow with minimal coverage.

4. Kalmar Calm Shower Gel £30 and Joy Body Lotion £35

Kalmar, how much do I love thee? Not only because I happened to win a box of beautiful products in a competition, but I'm really big on evocative fragrance and these really do trigger something in me.

The products are extremely nourishing and soothing and if, like me, you are hugely affected by fragrance, these will definitely be mood enhancing.

5. Medik8 Crystal Retinal 3

I was fairly late introducing retinol into my nightime regime. I probably should have started in my 30s but better late than never right? So I wanted to go for a fairly serious brand that I know through my industry network, does retinol really well.

With Medik8 Crystal Retinal serum, you can start at a low dose and build up gradually which will prevent adverse reactions and excessive drying out of the skin. I started on 3 rather than 1 and I have to say, didn't get any adverse reaction to it. Retinol, actually a form of Vitamin A, is great for midlife skin as it promotes skin renewal and enhances collagen production. Next step is number 6 for me!
