As we are held in lockdown and not spending on anything other than food, flowers and chocolate, I find myself exploring new beauty products. So, hopefully, once a month I'm going to aim to share these with you - warts and all...both on IGTV and here.
So here goes for February:
Aromatherapy Associates Revive Shower Oil £26

I absolutely love this product. It is basically a shower gel in oil format- which emulsifies with water to foam slightly. The zing of the 'Revive' essential oils engulfs you as the oils emulsifies. This is one of my favourite Aromatherapy Associates blends which contains oils of Grapefruit, Rosemary and Juniper Berry

Modern Botany Deodorant E25

I was introduced to this natural, plant based, brand through my friend Tracey Woodward who has recently joined as co-founder. The brand prides itself on creating products that are not only kind to our bodies but kind to the planet. I'm not usually a fan of 'natural' deodorants but this one is incredible. Apart from the fact that it actually works, I am obsessed with the natural fragrance. It contains a blend of 11 essential oils including Witchhazel, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Frankinsense and Vetivert. Who knew spritzing deodorant could give so much pleasure.

Votary Super Seed Facial Oil £70

I've been a fan of facial oils for the past 20 years and have wanted to try one of Votary's for a while now. The brand is expensive but it feels like such a treat when you purchase - and after all we can't put a price on good skin can we? I would normally go for a fragranced oil but as I purchased this online I didn't want to risk not liking it. This is a wonderful soothing oil which I use every night and my skin just feels great. The brand describes it is being good for dry, sensitive and hormonal skin which I think sums up a menopause complexion pretty well.

Tan-Luxe Superglow Hyaluronic Self-Tan Serum £35

January and February are traditionally months when your skin just feels grey and dull so I was really excited to try this product. Recommended by my friend Jane (BritBeautyBlog) it really does what it says. It's a gradual tan which doubles up as skincare - so takes the place of your usual 'serum' step ie before moisturiser and after cleansing. It's a slow-build for me - not an instant tan, but great for everyday and just providing a healthy glow rather than looking dull and lifeless.

Olaplex 0 £26 and No3 £26
I'm fairly new to Olaplex and it's fair to say I wish I had discovered this years ago. It is great for heat damaged and dry hair - and generally any hair in need of repair. The Olaplex system is said to repair and replenish without harmful chemicals leaving you with glossy healthier looking hair. The O is a rebuild hair bonds and reduce breakage and is the first part of a two-part treatment with it's sister No3. No3 then strengthens and repairs prior to washing leaving hair really feeling like it's had some TLC. My hair definitely felt great afterwards - although I do need to be using it more regularly - they suggest once a week.
